About Me

I graduated from the University of Utah in Composite Social Sciences with endorsements in ESL and Language Arts. I earned my Master of Education Degree in Special Education / Gifted and Talented Education from Arkansas State University. I added an additional Masters of Education Degree in 2017 in Educational Theory/Curriculum and Leadership.

I am a member of the Utah State Board of Education’s Advocacy in Action for New Americans committee.

I was surprised and honored to be awarded the Huntsman Excellence in Education Award for teaching in 2018!  This was definitely a “Pure Joy” moment for me and my family!

I was named the T. Denny Sanford Teacher of the Year for the State of Utah 2018.

I was honored to be named as a finalist for the 2017 Teacher of the Year for the Salt Lake School District.  I was named UEN’s American Graduate Champion 2016-2017 for the State of Utah.

Even though I graduated from the University of Utah my heart bleeds true Blue!  I love Clayton Middle School.  My sons and daughters are proud Clayton Cougar Alumni.  Our family lived in Germany for a few years, where we traveled extensively.  We found that it is always great to come back home to Utah!   I am an avid football fan and our family attends both the University of Utah and BYU football games.  I have the best students in the school and I love being a Clayton Cougar!  Go Cougars!
